Drake-Scruggs Hotrod Bucket Truck
The idea for the our Hot Rod Bucket Truck started with the restoration of a 1951 Chevy pickup we purchased from Larry Hahn of southern Illinois. We then purchased a 1983 GMC 3500 chassis from the Taylorville Marina in Taylorville, Illinois.
When it came time to chose the body and bucket, we choose a 2005 Knapheide utilty body that we narrowed to sit on the GMC chassis and a 1987 Versalift TEL 24.
As you can see the hood tilts forward and this is done using a hydraulic lift from a Braun wheelchair lift and the exterior is painted Vipor red.
Finally the interior was finished with an oak floor from trees from our facility, steering column from a Chevy S10, electric emergency brake from a 1990 Chevy van and brown leather seats from a 1991 Cadillac.
